Brooklyn Design Store Beam Is A Legit Hotbed Of Clever And Quirky Homewares

Everyone has their thing, and here at Roomers our ‘thing’ happens to be fun, and it wasn’t too long ago in Williamsburg that we found our fun soulmate: Beam design store. The second you walk into the space on Kent Avenue, you understand that this is no ordinary homegoods place. Everything in the place has a sense of stylish humor and playfulness, without ever bordering on the cheesy or obvious.

The owners set out to fill the space with both established and up-and-coming brands, and they’ve balanced it incredibly well. There’s squashy Chesterfield sofas by The Comfortable Couch Company, sleek etched metal pendant lights by Tom Dixon, quirky concrete hats and bags by Seletti (you can use them as ice buckets or magazine racks for example) and lolz pillows by Brooklyn textile designer Alexandra Fergusen.

The best part about Beam is that you can go in with $2000 or $20 and find something you love, even if it’s just a pizza temporary tattoo. Nothing compares to the feeling of discovery IRL as you wander around the space, but the online store is really well stocked too, with all of the most important objects available for those who don’t get to do brunch in Williamsburg with a tipsy stroll afterwards.

240 Kent Avenue (at N. 1st Street) Brooklyn NY 11249 beambk.com
