You may have cray bushy brows, or you may be trying to grow them out. Both are legit concerns in in our humble brow opinion. Earlier this week, while staying at the chi-chi Shangri La hotel in Vancouver, we hit up this new brow bar in the same building as the hotel. Can you say convenient? While we are not exactly caterpillars in the brow area, a little cleaning up is always in order and at Bombay Brow Bar they do threading, which is something we’d only seen playing on a TV screen at a nail salon on Allen Street. Apparently it’s super accurate and better than tweezing because they get out all the fuzzies, in seconds. We went for Bombshell Brows ($23), our brow expert mapped out the ideal brow shape with a white pencil so we could see her vision (and make sure it matched up with ours). After a relatively painless and rapid threading, we got this relaxing forehead massage with soothing rosewater eye gel and then brow finishing which is basically filling in the brows with powder to give them definition. She gave us a great tip re: brow makeup – start at the arch and work from that. The shape was excellent, the brow bar itself was a brightly colored Indian oasis of pink and gold, they give you chai, and you’re almost fully reclined as they work… so it’s all very relaxing really. You can buy brow kits at the store to do your own brow defining at home too. There’s other services too, such as fuzzies removal from other areas of the face and brow, lash tinting, and of course Boy Brows where they will rid your man of his unibrow.
These people know brow perfection, we trust them implicitly. There are three locations in Vancouver. You should go!
