Swiss artist Ursus Wehrli did what we all dream about doing. He cleaned up the world. Much in the same way as people are now organizing bookshelves by color, for his new book The Art Of Clean Up: Life Made Neat And Tidy, Wehrli color-coordinated parking lots, clothes lines and the contents of supermarket baskets. He organized his alphabet soup by letter, he straightened out pretzels and deconstructs a bouquet of flowers to form neat lines of petals and stems. In addition to it being visually thrilling, the book is laugh-out-loud funny, particularly his ‘cleaning up’ of a school of koi fish – the opposite page shows a dish of perfectly aligned fish sticks. It comes as no surprise then to find that Wehrli’s other job is award-winning comedian.
