Resurrection Vintage Store Is Still A Crucial Inspirational Resource For Designers

Resurrection2 Fashion // Stores

A split second after ringing the buzzer and a moment before you’re permitted to enter the unassuming LES haunts of Resurrection, you blush. It dawns on you that you’re entering a vintage haven for which you might not feel worthy. Deep red walls, retro Sputnik chandeliers, neatly lined rows of garments in a sparse fashion that says, “Hey boo, we’re really special and probably more than you can afford.” All of this peeped from outside the windowpane and frankly, you’re a little nervous. But the door swings open and you step in. You shuffle through the racks of clothing, eyeing label after label to the tune of: OMG YSL, holy crap Moschino, um is that Gucci?, hell yeah Hermès, WTF? Halston! Overcome, you know you’ve reached a high-fashion mecca. Vintage style. Resurrection, founded in 1996 by Mark Haddawy and Katy Rodriguez, is home to some of the best Studio 54-era vintage and beyond. It’s a crucial inspirational resource for designers, as well as a closet for those in the know and fortunate enough to partake. This store is surely worth a visit if you’re looking for a unique vintage designer piece or little design skooling from some of The Greats.
