“Dirty Dancing. It’s like Dirty Dancing,” is what people looove to say when describing Ruschmeyer’s in Montauk. While it does have a kind of Kellerman’s feel, the magic of this 19-room hotel at the tip of the Hamptons goes far beyond its charming cabin rooms and the teepee on the lawn (although the teepee even more special since jewelry designer Pamela Love gifted a new one after her wedding at the hotel this past weekend). Fresh seafood from the Fat Radish guys is served in the airy, Japanese-lantern-filled restaurant as well as outdoors, and for those who want to head out there are bikes for borrowing and a take-out menu of pastries, salads and sandwiches for packing a picnic. There’s bocce ball, yoga, ping pong, free Wi-Fi and the rooms are comfortably simple with John Masters organic products and Frette linens. This summer the Sand Bar officially opens – a giant sand pit surrounded by bleachers. There couldn’t be a more perfect place to have a cocktail and listen to the Beach Boys (insert Brian Wilson sandpit joke here) and we are very excited.
Rooms start at $225 Ruschmeyer’s, 161 Second House Rd., Montauk, NY 11945 Kingandgrove.com
