“Manolo Blahnik once told me my shoes were the best shoes he’d ever seen,” Cory Kennedy said of her classic Bass saddle shoes last night at The Cleveland. He clearly knows what he’s talking about! We hooked up with G.H. Bass to gather an intimate group of fashionable New Yorkers at the utterly understated new restaurant for a pre-fashion week dinner to celebrate the classic American shoes, and lord knows we love a classic. Classics are everything. Bass collaborator Rachel Antonoff discussed her new braids (she got ‘em did in Harlem), Teen Vogue Style Features Director Andrew Bevan was accompanied by model-turned-DJ and all round cool girl Atlanta De Cadenet-Taylor, Kelly Framel rushed downtown with Stylecaster Editorial Director Marni Golden following a hosting gig at Saks and Nylon‘s Ray Siegel rued her choice of a “shacket” (shirt-jacket) as the temperature dropped. We sent everyone home with shoes, of course. Now everyone has stylish and comfortable shoes for Fashion Week. It’s legit a shoe miracle.
