This Is Cool: Nate Lowman x Converse Collaborate For Just One Eye

We’re all very familiar with a collaboration – these days everyone is doing them – but this project with Just One Eye and New York artist Nate Lowman is a little more unique than your average collab.

The Los Angeles-based ‘future concept store’ approached Lowman to make some custom Chucks, and last year the artist flew to L.A. with a couple of his canvases (worth $700,000), which he cut up with a cobbler to create 21 pairs of shoes to be sold for $25,000 each at Just One Eye. You can see in the gallery below how they chose each unique pair based on the positioning of the canvas.

However, since your average humanoid doesn’t have $25K to spend on sneakers, Lowman also selected a pair to be replicated for a limited edition of 500 which are now available for $110 a pair at Just One Eye. A little more affordable we would say, and at least you can wear these ones. Right?
