Customizing has come a loooooong way y’all. We remember the 80s when the only way to customize was a T-shirt or sweatshirt at the mall on which you could get red felt letters spelling out your name, or whatever it was you wanted. Or of course you just did it yourself, if you were crafty, which we weren’t. Home Ec wasn’t our thing. Now we are basically monogramming addicts. Ralph Lauren hand towels? Check. Duvet cover and shams? Check. Cambridge satchel with embossed initials. Yup. Recently we stopped by the Converse store on a Saturday to pick up some white Chucks. (BTW we know it was an amateur move to walk along Broadway on a Saturday afternoon, SO PACKED). Of course we get into the store and decide to nose around the customizing area, only to discover we could get our USA on with some red, white and blue and stars. Well, who wants plain white when you can have custom flag-ish ones? Not us! We placed the order and they were ready by the following Tuesday. It only costs around $30 to customize, so it would be very rude not to. Oh, and there’s a lot more than just stars to choose from.
